Josefina’s combined experience of being a legal and strategic advisor in the beautiful world of music and a teacher and podcaster within the field of health and wellness has given me a unique skillset and a very holistic approach to what it means to build a successful business, where you can actually thrive – not only survive. The services I offer involve everything from strategic, commercial, and legal advice and rights management to setting up structures, collaborations, and administrative functions. Working closely with the creator’s team and always with the focus on building long-term, sustainable solutions for the business as well as for the person behind it.
“Having been part of the music industry for more than 15 years and for the last 10+ years, particularly being a creator representative, I have learnt that my role as a lawyer in the music industry, most of the time, involves so much more than “just” giving traditional legal advise. Oftentimes, the lawyer is actually a key person in the creator team when it comes to seeing and advising on the whole picture including negotiating the commercial terms and setting up structures and administrative functions for the creator’s company and business. This makes the work so much more fun I think but also of course much more complex. So, with this in mind, I would rather refer to my client services as “Creator Business Affairs Services” instead of legal services. Business Affairs is the term generally used in the music industry for the legal department/function at the major recording and publishing companies.
